10 reasons why you should take part in a Virtual Recruitment Fair this year

Published on 27th February, 2018 by Amy Bardsley. Published in For Candidates / TIC News

One of the first ever international school Virtual Recruitment Fairs takes place from 17th to 31st March. This event is open to all accredited or recognised international schools and to teachers interested to work in international schools. It’s a new way for teachers to meet great schools who are looking for staff, and for schools to engage with quality teachers from across the globe.

Here are ten reasons why you should be there:

1. Attending is completely free for teachers

There are no registration costs, no travel costs, or any other ‘surprise’ costs. It is entirely free! For schools, this means that many teachers, from all over the world, are already signing up.

2. The event is a chance for schools to fill all their positions by May

Does your school still have vacancies to fill? The Virtual Recruitment Fair provides an affordable, reliable and accessible solution to fill any remaining positions by May.

3. It’s the new way to recruit

Virtual fairs are the newest solution for recruitment. They are used by global leaders such as Amazon, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson to recruit top talent from around the world. By attending, you can be involved in a forward-thinking, user-friendly and time-efficient approach to recruitment.

4. Schools can reach teachers with the qualifications and abilities they need

TIC is pre-vetting all teachers who register to ensure they are qualified, first-language or fluent English-speaking teachers. Teachers who may previously have been geographically restricted from attending a traditional fair can attend the Virtual Recruitment Fair at no cost and with no problem. Schools will be able to access an excellent pool of qualified candidates all looking for teaching positions for the 2018/2019 academic year.

5. You can chat and ask questions directly

Just like a traditional fair, school representatives will be able to chat directly and privately with teachers, or publicly to a group. There is also an option to leave messages with schools or teachers, when someone is unavailable because of time zone differences.

6. It will save you a huge amount of time

There is no need to travel hundreds of miles to attend a recruitment fair in another country. Just log in from a mobile device, tablet or computer. For teachers, this also means there is no need to spend hours researching and contacting individual schools, as there will be some excellent international schools all under one virtual roof.

7. Schools can showcase themselves

The Virtual Recruitment Fair offers schools many options to customise and personalise their presence at the fair in order to stand out from others. It allows teachers, and the schools themselves, to compare between other schools.

8. Teachers can apply for jobs and get feedback instantly.

When teachers apply for jobs through traditional methods they sometimes have to wait many days and even weeks for a response, often finding another option as a result. In the Virtual Recruitment Fair, if a school likes an application, they can connect very quickly with a candidate and set up an interview within hours.

9. You can participate when it’s right for you.

Unlike a traditional recruitment fair where time is very limited and decisions can be highly pressurised, TIC’s Virtual Recruitment Fair is open for over two weeks. As a result, teachers can participate when it best suits them from the privacy of their own homes; in the evenings and at the weekend. This means schools have plenty of time to talk to teachers on a regular basis (even if they are in different time zones), discuss potential candidates within their Senior Leadership Team, and allow selected candidates to make decisions in a stress-free way.

10. Schools can save money by signing up today to exhibit
