This international school in the Democratic Republic of Congo is seeking an experienced Primary teacher to start immediately.

  • Fully qualified teacher status with an internationally recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.

About the School

This is an independent and accredited International English speaking school in Pointe-Noire, one which meets the needs of internationally mobile and expatriate families, as well as local families, who want their children to have an enhanced education with English as the language of instruction. The school welcomes students from Nursery (2-3 years) to Primary (4-11 years) and from Year 7 to Year 12 (12-16 years).

The school follows the statutory programmes of study and attainment targets of the National curriculum of England.

The school boasts spacious recreational areas and 21st Century classrooms. In addition, the school offers a library of diverse reading materials and resources, a fully functioning interactive computer laboratory, an Arts, Music and Drama facilities and specialist learning spaces. Gym equipment and a sandpit are utilized daily during play. The school grounds are secure, clean, spacious and attractive. Security Guards are stationed at their posts providing added security and safety for the children at all times.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the curriculum that governs the teaching and learning of children from 2-5 years, which fluidly transitions into the National Curriculum of England that caters for students aged from 5-11. The International Primary Curriculum is a satellite curriculum that is used to supplement and provide a more theme-based scaffold.

The school promotes the awareness and use of technology throughout the learning experience.  A wireless network provides access to the Internet via desktop computers, laptops and iPads. Teachers and students alike utilise these technologies on a daily basis.
