About the School
This international school in Dubai utilizes the AERO (American Education Reaches Out) curriculum, through which students are exposed to the rigor of American academia and equipped with a future-proof skill set in an engaging and respectful environment. AERO is supported by the U.S State Department’s Office of Overseas Schools and the Overseas Schools Advisory Council. Students from over 82 different nationalities attend the school, creating a richly diverse atmosphere ripe for enhanced cultural learning and personal growth. Situated alongside the green area in Dubai students enjoy vast green outdoor spaces, a large multipurpose gymnasium, a football field, tennis courts, an indoor heated swimming pool, computer labs and a comprehensive library of academic resources.
The school teaches an American curriculum (the AERO Common Core Plus). It exposes students to both American culture and the rigor of American academia. It also equips students with a future-proof set of skills and a global outlook.
The AERO Common Core Plus curriculum standards align with the Common Core Standards while providing value-added support to overseas schools as they work to become fully standards-based. Since the school is an overseas American school with a diverse teacher and student population, it makes sense to choose a curriculum that supports this. By using the AERO Common Core Plus curriculum, they are also fortunate to belong to a community of 98 schools outside of the US that are implementing AERO-based standards. This gives us the opportunity to share ideas with and learn from others around the world.
The school believes that physical activity plays a critical role in a student’s development and well-being. In addition to a large multi-purpose gym, students enjoy access to a football field, a lawn tennis court, and an indoor heated swimming pool. Well-equipped art and music facilities encourage young artists and musicians of all abilities and across all age groups to get involved and build their self-confidence, imagination and critical thinking skills. The library houses vast resources for students, staff and parents to increase knowledge and understanding on different subjects and support classroom studies.
A STEAM lab is currently in the works to facilitate cross-curricular teaching and learning in robotics, programming and coding and more. The lab is aimed at strengthening preparation for higher education and enhancing career opportunities in the digital sector. Similarly, the school embraces mobile electronic devices, used under close supervision, as an effective learning tool for middle and high school students.
The school also has Science laboratories, counselling areas, school transport, a well equiped medical centre with a full-time trained and experienced nurse, a school store and a cafeteria.
