About the School
This international school in the south of Abu Dhabi, teaches the National Curriculum for England to ages 3 to 15. The school now has over 1300 students from over 45 different nationalities. They currently teach FS1 to Year 10 (Pre-KG to Grade 9), with Year 11 (Grade 10) opening in September 2018.
Building started in September 2012, and the doors to the school first opened in September 2014 to over 200 children, which quickly grew to 686 by the end of the first term. In September 2015, they welcomed over 1,000 children and doubled their staff numbers. By September 2016, the school had grown again to over 1,200 students, and the campus and student body were a settled and welcoming environment to the new families that joined the school. With more capacity to grow in the Secondary School they will see their numbers grow again in September 2018, when they open Year 11 for when students complete their iGCSE exams.
The school pride themselves on their staff. Nearly all teachers are native English speakers, working alongside specialist teachers who deliver the Ministry of Education’s Arabic, Islamic and Social Studies curriculum. Learning and teaching standards are constantly observed, and specialist consultants from their British owners ensure they are constantly developing to give students the best environment to develop academically as well as socially. The Senior Leadership Team are mainly British, bringing years of experience from schools all over the world to the international school.
The environment is as important to learning as the faculty is. The school has light spacious classrooms for Primary and Secondary, and a separate specialised Early Years Foundation Stage building with its own indoor and outdoor play areas. A heated swimming pool offers weekly swimming lessons to Years 3 and above, while the library, ICT suites and art rooms give students a rounded education.
Science labs will be available to Secondary students from the 2017-18 academic year, as well as a fantastic refurbished indoor multipurpose sports hall.
