About the School
This international school in Malaysia started its operation in September 2016. The school offers an international student-centered programme for students from Early Years up to the Secondary levels. This new school brings the opportunity of high quality international education at affordable fees to the community and the surrounding residential areas. Both the Primary and Secondary schools are located on an impressive 14-acre purpose-built campus that is equipped with modern facilities for learning and teaching.
The Primary school adopts the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) at Key Stage 1 and 2 (Early Years and Primary). This is taught in English and is based on the latest approaches in teaching and learning. It follows a child-centred thematic approach but with rigorous assessment, ensuring that each child not only enjoys his/her schooling but also attains the highest possible standard.
The curriculum aims to achieve high standards in English literacy, Mathematics, Science and Humanities whilst also providing young children with the opportunity to develop skills in the arts and technology. External assessment at the end of Primary education is administered by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) through the Checkpoint tests.
At Key Stage 3 (Year 7 to 9), the school follows the National Curriculum for England appropriately modified for international students. All students study the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Information Communication Technology (ICT) together with Geography, History, Design-Technology, Music, Drama, PE, Art and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL). External assessment at the end of Key Stage 3 is through the Checkpoint tests administered by CIE.
At Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and 11), students choose from a range of subjects from the Languages, Humanities, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology and Arts groups, leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations. The IGCSE is an internationally renowned and recognised qualification for further education.
