About the School
This international school in Rome welcomes students from different countries, cultures and religions to enrich its school community. They follow the American curriculum and prepare the Italian students for Italian state exams.
The School aims to provide a sound education in respect of the values of tolerance, solidarity, trust, and integrity, in a safe, and positive environment. At the school each child can attain his or her full potential academically, physically, emotionally, and socially within a small caring atmosphere. Children are encoraged to be responsible, caring, aware, and proud. Politeness, courtesy, and good behavior are of the utmost importance.
The Early Childhood department is designed for children three, four, and five years of age. The emphasis for three and four years old is to make the transition from home to school, as smooth as possible and to learn through play to develop skills, attitudes, and concepts. The five years olds (Kindergarten) enjoy a more structured program which includes alphabet skills, math, pre-reading, and writing activities. The elementary school program encompasses grades one to five. Core subjects of English, Maths, Science, Social Studies, and Spelling are taught by the classroom teachers. Specialists teach music, I.T, and physical education. Students build on their elementary experience as they prepare for high school. Classes become more specialized, and emphasis is placed on organization, study skills, and research techniques. The curriculum prepares children for British and American high schools.
The educational program offered is “whole child” centered, so that as well as high academic expectations, emphasis is also placed on the arts.
